| Recently purchased 03 MDX with 71000 miles. Had trans flushed and fresh fluid. Headed out of town and the VTM-4 light came on after apprx. 70 miles. What is going on? |

I have an 03 MDX with about 80K. My VTM-4 light has been coming on and turning off periodically since 62K. Same goes with the check-engine light. I bought an OBD scanner and the codes say "engine misfire."
I replaced the oil, tranny fluid, VTM-4 fluid, air filter and spark plugs and check-engine still comes on with VTM-4 going on/off periodically. Next steps are to clean EGR valve, IAC (as soon as I figure out what that is), and run fuel cleaner. Car runs fine though. If you ever get this resolved, please let me know what you did. |

| Took it to Honda dealer here in town. $127.00 later, no clue. |

| I believe the check engine light plus VTM-4 is a sign of the EGR valve. I just had mine replaced under warranty, thankfully. Parts alone are $150-$250. It's an easy fix though. Only 2 bolts to remove. |
