Has anyone experienced a white fog blowing out the center air conditioning vents on a hot day. My dealer says it is normal.

I had this happen on my Acura Legend every time it was very hot outside. I was told by the dealer it was normal - and it never affected the A/C. I thought it was odd, since I owned 2 '89 legends and it only happend in the sedan - not the coupe.

I traded the acuras several years ago - and had the "fog" for 8 years, but I never had a problem with the A/C.

Basically white fog is just moisture condensing out of the air because of the rapid cooling. Like the contrails formed by hot jet exhaust meeting super cold air when the humidity conditions are just right but in reverse (cold air stream hitting warm moist air). It actually is mostly a sign of how powerful the AC is. And believe me, when the MDX AC unit kicks in automatically on panic-mode in a really hot car it blows a lost of cold air. A feature us Charlestonians appreciate.

We appreciate good A/C here in Hotlanta too. Funny, I haven't seen the "white fog" on the MDX but did see it periodically on my Accords.

Well, at least our fog is just fog. I gather from comments on the BMW X-5 board that it has occasionally blown battery acid out through the AC.
Between that and the odd X-5 incinerating itself, kinda makes weeping mirrors seem less catastrophic somehow.

Battery Acid! Wow! Now that's a new one. Like you said, I'm glad we got the "good" fog. :D
