Hi All,
I just wanted to post a note that my tranny just went on my '02 X at about 82,000 miles. I had the 'rumble strip' syndrome and took it in and at first they told me it was the spark plugs. I told them 'no way'. They then did more digging and told me the transmission went (no real shocker sadly).
Anyway, after I gave them the business and told them this was a known problem and Acura needs to do something blah, blah, blah they agreed to fix it under warranty (I give them a lot of business between my X and my husband's TL).

Well, just wanted to mark down another tranny biting the dust! I still love my X but the transmission problems need to stop!!!!

Just had my tranny replaced at 86k. Originally had the tranny checked during the recall back about 2 years ago. I started having transmission problems about 10k miles ago. Noticed shuddering and hesitation usually between 2nd and 3rd gears. . Park Avenue Acura originally replaced the EGR valve to see if that helped. At the time the shuddering was every few weeks. It gradually got worse. Finally, took it in last month and they said the transmission had to be replaced. Said it was not covered under warranty, but that as a good customer, and because they knew that I was looking at the 2007, that they had "talked" Acura into covering it under goodwill. I know better, but they were really good about it and I was not going to mention that I knew better. Took about 10 days to replace. Don't know if rebuilt or not, but I am going to be selling it in the next few months any way. Still considering the 2007, but also looking at the CX-9 and the Acadia/Outlook.

Hey Kenny,
Your story mirrors mine exactly! I, too, have been a customer of Park Ave since I bought mine in '03 and they fixed it for me because 'good customer' blah blah blah. They also had just fixed my EGR valve a couple weeks earlier and that didn't fix the problem so I took it back in and it was the transmission. They had my car for 2 weeks (with my kids car seats in the back of it 'cause I had no idea it was going to take that long). I lived in Teaneck at the time (just moved to Union county). Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it'll last because sadly there is not a 2007 in my future! :)
