I have my 2007 MDX for almost 2 months. About 2 weeks ago, I went to start the engine and it was dead. I got a boost and charged the battery. About six hours later, it was dead again. Got another boost and took it to the dealer where it was diagnosed as a "bad cell" (although it couldn't be proven). The battery was replaced and two weeks later, I'm finding myself with the same problem. It died yesterday and I got a boost and took it to the dealer where they tightened the terminal connections and sent me home. It died again this morning and it is now back at the dealer. There are no aftermarket installations -- it's equipped only with factory options and a few cosmetic accessories. Anyone noticing any electrical issues with their 2007???? Love the vehicle and this is SO disappointing!!!!!!

Pretty sure some bad electric connection is draining your battery. Have them run a dygnostic on battery while connected to see if it is being drained.

Do you have a power tailgate? If so, are you leaving hte tailgate open? If yes to both, that's whats killiong your battery. THe power tailgate draws 3 AMPS continuous while it's trying to hold the gate up.

Acura as a technical service bulletin (TSB) which says, "Tell your customers not to leave the power tailgate open. We're looking for a solution, and will tell you when we find it."

I have the Sport package -- so there's no power tailgate. (Not sure why Acura decided that the power tailgate is only offered with the Entertainment package ... ). But thanks for the feedback on that!! Every little bit helps.

If you have the Sport model you have the auto tailgate! The best way to tell is LOOK at your remote and if it has that emblem with a teenie weenie X with an open tailgate you got it....:1:

Only if he has both Ent and Sport. Sport only give you tech without the tailgate.

I've read where their is an issue with the "rod" that operates the tailgate thus could be disonnected and one pressing the incorrect button the remote thus causing it to function without opening thus draining the battery......Do you hear anything loose while driving ?

I'm certain that I don't have the power tailgate. As previously posted, it comes with the Entertainment package (back seat DVDs) -- and I didn't opt for that. I just have the Tech/Sport. There's nothing rattling and none of the systems seem to be doing anything odd. The vehicle is pure joy ... well .. that is until I hit the button on my remote and get no response. I only wish there was some kind of symptom to report -- and I'm the type of person who pays very close attention to engine/car sounds and vehicle handling. My gut instinct is that it's something in the anti-theft system (factory installed - not aftermarket). But who knows. There is just SO much electronics packed into this vehicle that it's scary.

In another forum (I cannot remember which one) someone posted about a battery drain problem with his MDX. After several trips to the dealer, they determined it was associated with the Bluetooth. Once 'fixed' it was A-OK.

Time to review the Lemon Law applicable to your state if this is the third time it happened.

I have also had two non starting events on my 2 month old 2007 MDX (with Nav) with a jump start and the dealer attributied it to a bad battery the 1st time. I am now waiting for my 2nd roadside assistance for another jump start to get it to the dealer . I wonder if my radio is draining the battery as it asks for the code every few times i start teh car and made a whirring sound for no reason 2 days ago. Did you ever resolve the battery issue from last January?

I hope you get it fixed!

You have it backward- the radio is asking for the code because the battery is dead. The radio thinks it's been uplugged, and demands the code for you to prove you haven't stolen it.
Either way, that sucks on a new vehicle, and it's the reason for "Lemon Laws". THe dealer gets a few times to fix a nex car quality issue, then you can go to arbitration for a replacement vehicle at no cost.

EXACT SAME thing happened to me on my 06 MDX!!!! tell them to check the battery for a leeching draw, i believe after 10 minutes it should be around 20-40 milliamps. If higher, pull one fuse out at a time, if nothing good occurs, then put back and choose another. In my 06, doing this rendered either the VSA< HFL or the TPMS for the extra draw, but it was still lemoned and i got the 07. DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN AWNSER!!!!!

I think that's "parasitic draw". You're right abou the time- the April 07 Service Bulletin says a tech must wait 10 minutes for the BlueTooth to go to sleep, since it draws 200mA, before checking parasitic draw.
BTW, "parasitic draw" is like when your house electric meter still spins after you turn absolutely everything off.

i made a thread a couple weeks ago about an electrical problem. my dealer diagnosed the radio as the culprit for the dying battery and replaced it. have them take a look at your radio. no problems since the radio was changed.

here is my thread
