'02: replacement shock recos
Hi. We have about 75K miles on my wife's '02 MDX and over the past few months I have noticed that the ride is a bit harder and bouncier than in the past. While some of that may be the tires, I suspect it is the shocks.
I would appreciate knowing if 75K is a reasonable replacement time for this year vehicle (100% on-road and about 80% highway driving. No towing). I would also appreciate knowing people's experience with replacement with OEM versus after market brands.
Thanks

I would think that 75k miles is on the early side (but not unheard of), especially considering most are highway miles.
Not sure how many miles are on your tires, but tires make a huge difference on ride smoothness and performance. Also not your PSI, as to much will create a harsh ride.
No recommendation on replacement brands, but if you do a search on shock replacement, I think you'll find several threads with recommended brands. |

i've used KYB for many honda and acura's when they hit 100K miles
it's the 1st thing I replace (just because).
I find them as good or better then OEM replacements that cost much more.
do a google search for OEM Acura Parts, and several websites list KYB as OEM replacements |
