I have used the search and it seems nobody has answered what bulb numbers you use in the gauge cluster

I have a 2002..and I have the Acura shop manual and on pg. 22-79 it doesnt state the bulb numbers, it only states: 1.4w or 3w

does anyone know what bulb numbers the 1.4watt and 3watt are?

I took a couple of bulbs out of the cluster but the numbers arent on there, they have been burned off over the years..same as my license plate bulbs but I found the numbers on this site for those

thanks for any help!!!

still trying to figure out the bulb number

I called a local Acura dealership and they just give me the part number and just say the watts...they wont give me a bulb number (ex: 168, 194) because they said it doesnt show one in their system

does ANYBODY know what bulb numbers they are

I even when on a Acura website that has the dash broken up in a detailed diagram and still no part number only the wattage.

If anyone can help I'd certainly appreciate it!!!

Why don't you just order the bulbs from an Acura dealership and either install them or have them installed?

because I want to try and see what standard single mount LEDs look like in there

and if I dont like that look, I'm going for this look w/ multiple leds in a string formation (see pics below)

Will do!! :D

I dont know if I want to try it on my current cluster or not so I posted a WTB thread and maybe see if I can buy another one just in case something goes wrong >LOL, most of the time it does :p

They're number 74 "Neo - Wedge Instrument Panel Bulbs are 10mm (3/8") diameter x 13mm (1/2") high"

You can get them here (scroll down a bit) - http://autolumination.com/74.htm

Got the details of removing the guage cluster? I am very interested in doing the LED replacement on the instrument panel... :)

they are 74's i have the single leds in mine. but it dont think its bright enough because i want it to look like the new acuras. so very bright and vibrant. i would say go for the strips they will work perfectly except i havent figured out how to take the gauges out cuz in the back there is a screw that has solder on it and it looks like the gauge will seperate if i unscrew. if you take apart and the gauges are still in tact let me know how you did it.

i will try to post pics of my gauges as soon as i can load them onto my comp. i have also gone ahead and tackled all the switches and replaced them with 3mm white/blue leds..

to take the gauges out its very easy.

1. the bezel has two screws on top. unscrew them and then it will pop out and you need to unplug all the switches..
2. there are 4 screws around the gauge cluster itself once those are out. you can take out the gauge cluster. it maybe easier to unplug the cluster if you tilt the top of it towards the front of the car.

when taking the cluster out it will probly be easier if you move the steering column all the way down so you can get more room from in between the dashboard and steering wheel.

There are 5 leds i believe just for the gauges itself. then for the odometer screen there are 3 or 4 bulbs/leds.

this site may help you some more..since the 3rd gen tl's electonics are almost identical to our mdx's
