hello all, i am new to the site. Owning my first MDX, and its an '07. Billet Silver/ebony, tech/ent. it's 1 mth, now that i had my mdx, only 747 miles on it. I only drive it on the weekends, i have a weekday car, it's a '99 nissan maxima. both very reliable and i love both cars. But my question to all is.............. does anyone have a delay when shifting from R then to D? when i back up from the driveway, then put it back to D, i feel like the MDX takes a sec to get in gear, and if i add gas after switching from R to D, it jerks. Not a hard jerk, just a lil' nudge, but that concers me on a new car? any ideas out there? appreciate the help. i hope all is well...........

I have never noticed a thing in my 2004. However, it is difficult without experiencing what you are feeling in your vehicle to know what it is you feel. What I am saying is that I would have to ride with you to understand what you are asking.
Sorry I could not be more help.

I don't know if this applies to you. I had a 2002 MDX. I noticed that if I shift from R to D while it is still slowly sliding backward, if I apply the gas, there is a little jerk. I feel it's more like a transmission problem. However, I guess you should only change your shift when the car is at a complete stop to save on the transmission anyway.:)

when shifting from R to D, the vehicle should come to a complete stop and not be moving. In the long run, it could affect the transmission.

I will make sure to do that, i sometimes have a bad habit of doing that, while it's still rolling back very slowly, and kick it to D. Now i know not to do that. thanks again for you help guys.

Yep! I have that too and posted about it when I first got my MDX last month. Basically nobody else was experiencing it at the time. I think my thread was in the 'general discussions' titled "tranny issues"
