| When I punch the MDX and let it go as far as it can (doesn't come close to redline I noticed) at around 5000 or so RPMs I hear the engine get noticeably louder but don't feel any type of surge or power. Is this VTEC kicking in or is my motor just louder up top? |

| Actually, most of the noise is from the intake manifold effectively changing the length of the runners. |
