I see a lot of literature mentioning the MDXs 4+3 seating. Can the second row really only fit two people? Can anyone who has three kids out of car seats comment on the room of the second row for three children? My 03 is a pretty good fit but I can't tell with the new gen since the second row looks almost like two bucket seats.

Can you really fit three people(children) in the third row? Are there 3 seatbelts in both the second and third row? Sorry for all of the questions but thanks for the help.

My wife has sat between the two car seats in the 2nd row to feed my son. He is in a rear facing car seat wheras my daughter (4) is in a booster seat.

Thanks rsnaider!

The seating is 2+3+2. The 3rd row only seats 2.

Basically the middle row is contoured for only 2 people ... the middle is pretty flat and hard relatively speaking.

How the dealer explained it to me was, ideally for greatest amount of comfort(ie space) the MDX is a four seater with versatility to use the third row for 2 plus 1 in second row 4+3

Plus, the middle seat on a Sport package is not heated.

That must be what they mean. To me it is a bit of a confusing description but I guess it's all marketing. Thanks.

We have two mid-teenagers and two under 10 years old. We use a booster seat for our 5 year old (sometimes in the third row-sometimes in the second row), but have had three of them in the second row comfortably. Granted, the two oldest are Filipinos who are, by nature, small. The middle of the second row is somewhat awkward for an adult but can be belted and has a head rest. I think we've used every configuration imagineable depending on what else we're carrying, but it works for us. This is our third MDX.

My 2nd row seat doesn't have a headrest in the middle. Do you have the base, tech or sport model?

Thanks

I've had my 2007 for about a week and I'm still learning about the car's features. Upon closer inpspection of the middle seat, I see there is a headrest built into to seat back. Clever piece of engineering and it reaffirms that the middle seat is fully functional with a headrest and shoulder seat harness but it is not something you'd want to sit in for extended periods. It's good for that 5-15 minute ride. I imagine kids might find the comfort level just fine but as an adult, I would gauge my threshold at about 10 minutes before I'd go batty.

That is what is meant, but you really have to read between the lines and look at the seating pictures on the website to figure that out......
