| I was just storing a couple of numbers. One the first one, I said the 10 digits and the system came back with 13 digits. LOL I found out quickly that you need to be concise! I tried to name our house tel number as "Phone Home" (always liked that line in ET)...the system wouldn't let me. Said it could be interpreted as "00". |

One tip is to say few numbers and see if it can get them all then add more. otherwise, it needs all to be entered from beginning.
For me, 2 is toughest. Takes them as 00 or * !!!
Had the same problem in 2003 Escalade long back, may be it is just me! |

| I've found it surprisingly easy for the recognition to "recognize" what I'm saying ... I'm able to say the numbers quite fast as well. |

Press HFL Talk button and say PHONEBOOK, it will prompt you all the options, which include STORE, DELETE, EDIT and LIST I believe. Say STORE, it will prompt you to give the name that you want to save under and the number you want to save. It's pretty straight forward, and the HFL does guide you through it. You can also find the procedures listed in the manual too.:D |

Like he said...It's in the manual.
Hit Talk button, say "Phonebook"
System will respond, "Store, Edit, delete, etc."
At any time hit Talk button, say "Store"
System will ask, "What is the name?"
Hit Talk button, say "The name?"
System will ask "What number for The Name?" or it may warn you to pick another name.
Hit Talk button, say "The Tel Number" I had a problem with this. For me I had to talk distinctly without pause.
The System will repeat the number & it will appear on the MIC screen. And tell you, "To save say enter"
Hit Talk button, say "Enter"
System will say, "The Name has been saved."
At any point in the process you can hit the back button to repeat the step.
Once it is in there, Hit Talk button, say "Call...The Name"
The System will repeat The Name & ask you if you want to call.
Hit Talk button, say "Yes" |

Maybe you already know this, but I think it's a cool feature I still like to share with those who haven't find out.
When the system ask you if you want to place the call, you can just press and hold on to the TALK button until you hear a beep, then let go. HFL will make the call automatically by respond CALLING without needing you to say "YES". I really like that feature, less talk is GOOD.:claphead: |

If this system was really smart, it would give you the option to go through this scenario...
Hit talk button and say "Call wife!"
System will respond, "Please indicate her current mood?" with the additional options:
"happy"
"playful"
"moody"
"royally pissed off" or
"forget it pal, you're screwed."
Then after you make your selection, you will be prompted with the following options:
"Proceed with the call?"
"Would you like to have me order a bouquet of flowers before proceding with that call?"
"Perhaps a box of chocolates as well?"
"Are you absolutely sure you want me to proceed with this call?"
"Wouldn't you be better off just forgetting about this call and heading to your nearest favorite drinking establishment?"
These voice prompts certainly make a helluva lot more sense to me, and greatly simplify the entire hands free dialing process!

| Has anybody figured out how to program pauses, etc. into a number in the phonebook? I have an 800-number conference call I dial into every week which, after connecting, I have to wait for the prompt, enter a passcode, hit #, say my name and hit # again. It would be sweet if I could get all that into the phone book! Then I could just say "Call Spanish Inquisition" to connect :) |
