I installed the moon roof visor the other day on the new 07 MDX Elite and noticed significantly more wind noise with the visor on than off when the moon roof is in the closed position. Seems to be a big help when open but don't know if it's worth the hassle since the roof stays closed for most of the time.
Anyone else encountered this?
Thoughts?
The installation was straight forward the visor to body seal seems to be in good shape and positioned properly. |

| The dealer installed ours. I have not noticed any wind noise, but I also enjoy the radio, so maybe Rock XM drowned it out. I will check with the radio off when we go out today. |

thanks
also if you wouldn't mind checking the leading edge on the visor at the front corners. Mine has nicks taken out of the weather striping directly on the corners. I'm just wondering if these should be filled. |

It's interesting that you noted this. I didn't accessorize with the visor, but thought about the wind noise at the time. The MDX is aerodynamically designed to have wind smoothly transition over the top of the hood. Logically it seemed to me that impeding that air flow with the visor would naturally cause wind turbulence over the opening and increased wind noise overall. |

Ours has the same notches.
BTW...I put 250 miles on it today...no wind noise. I opened the moon-roof & it is so much better than our RX330, which does not have a visor. I don't even use the RX330 moon-roof because the wind buffeting / vibration is terrible. |

I guess it's a trade off.
At highway speeds with the moon roof open the ride is very quiet with the new visor and with the moon roof closed and the sun screen pulled forward, no noise can be detected.
When the moon roof is closed, and the sun shade is retracted ( roof open to moon roof glass) there is more wind noise than without the visor. Not obtrusive but more none the less.
Thanks to all for the feedback! |

| IMO the moon roof visor matches the lines of the MDX well and blends in. |
