Got my 04 MDX a couple weeks ago after trading in 05 Accord. After driving it for a week, I noticed some annoying things (subwoofer rattle, loose front speaker grill, loud blower unit, and scratched up pillars). Other than that I absolutely love the car. So, stumbled somehow onto this forum (which I am addicted to) and learned that others have had similiar problems as mine with the MDX.
Still under warranty, so took to Acura dealership (not really knowing how they would respond to my complaints since I didn't buy car from them). Picked up car from them today and they replaced front speaker grill, pillars, and performed insulation (per service bulletin) on subwoofer rattle. On top of that they are ordering a new blower unit for me and the technician found some fault with the driver seat, which they are fixing as well. Amazing service!!!
Never received service like this from Honda dealership. I guess that is the difference between Honda and Acura. |

of course, Honda & Acura dealership services are (at least supposed to be) different.
In my local area, there is a dealer which sells both Honda and Acura lines. Even though it is "One" dealer, they actually have two different building, one for Honda and the other for Acura. I happened to visit those two different buildings, one time to buy Honda CRV and the other time to buy MDX.
What a different attitudes of dealers did I observe? (both were friendly, but atmosphere/attitude of staffs are two different kinds.... )
Interesting is that they are even running two different garages to perform service.. and also two different sections to sell parts... Honda parts are sold in Honda building , and Acura parts are sold in Acura building... even if you are buying exact same parts/stuff.. you have to go to Honda if you have honda... need to go to Acura if I have acura... So, I have to go back and both between two different building when buying parts for CRV or MDX..... |
