I have an RFID tag for automatic toll payments that sticks to the inside of the windshield of my 2007 MDX. I want to place it behind the rear view mirror in the area that has the black dot pattern printed on the windshield. Anyone know if this printed pattern is metallic and therefore interfere with the RFID tag operation? I don't go through the toll booth very often so it will be awhile before I could test it.

| When I had to replace my PA tag I was notified that the '07 MDX was a "problem vehicle", so they sent me a large black unit that was supposed to be mounted on the front license plate holder. Well, in PA there are no front plates. In addition, they warn you that you will be charged for any damage. What more vulnerable location could they choose to insure damage? I found that it works held in front of a flipped-down sun visor. So, I will be attaching it to the visor with a few clips, just like a garage door opener. |

I have the new RFID toll tags in all of my cars - I pasted it on the black dotted area in my CL-S windshield and it works fine. I'll be doing the same in the MDX as soon as the tag arrives.
Don't sweat it too much if it isn't 100% effective - they have all those employees who look at all those license plate pics they take and look you up anyway... that's why you are always on hold when you call them :D |
