| My wife likes the look of the Wood Grain Steering Wheel & Shifter. Has anyone had the dealer install these? Taking the car to the dealer Service Dept makes me nervous. Your Thoughts? |

i have one in my 04, I went the route of letting the dealer install it since there is a toe adjustment needed after it is put on "so says the sticker on the box".
This in fact was the case in my situation to center the steering wheel after the install. My dealer kept telling me to ignore the box label, but i insisted they drive my X to make sure the steering wheel was center. After the tech drove my X, I watched him drive straight into the alignment rack for a 10 min adjustment.
Also the airbag made nervous, i didn't wanna chance something going wrong just to save the 175.00 it cost for the dealer to install it while I waited.
I love it btw, it just makes the MDX look more expensive, and everyone that gets in the X notices it right away.
Tim also gave me a great price on the wheel, and the dealer had no issues with me supplying the part since it was genuine Acura ( Thanks TIM :D ) |

Thanks. I thought maybe it was an 04-06 wheel with all the other buttons on it. Regardless, will the 2nd gen RL wheel fit on the 07 MDX? |

No, it won't - already asked my salesman and he said he asked the service department. I don't like the tiger wood they have on the 07 and the leather does not come in Bourdeaux to match the rest of the interior, so it was a no-go. Too bad, since I have one on the 01 and it feels so much nicer. |

Yup. That's too bad too. I really like the color of those seats, but it just doesn't work with the black fake wood. Perhaps if they brought back the old color fake wood or offered it as a choice (like MB and BMW do), we'd sell more with the bordeaux interior. |
