I picked up my '07 MDX this weekend and have a problem with the rear DVD entertainment LCD. It simply won't turn on. I can play a DVD and can hear it through the speakers. So, I bring it back to the dealer. They realize right away that the fuse is missing. We look in the glove compartment box and there it was. They explained me that they leave some fuses out so there is no drain on the battery during transport. Makes sense. They pop it in, it works, off I go.
As soon as I arrive home the rear LCD panel goes out again. :3: I thought I could smell something burning. Anyway, I hope it's just the fuse again. What a useless option for the driver, nothing worse than having something broken you will likely never use! Has anyone experienced this? |

Jean,
My rear LCD did not work when I picked my car up. After inserting the fuse, the thing is working fine now. It seems the dealers have been forgetting to insert the fuse on a quite a few occasions (see link)

The popping sound and burning smell definitely warrants another trip to the dealer as soon as possible. I would make sure they not only replace what is faulty, but double check everything else to make sure no other fuses/circuits are affected. I hope everything gets sorted out so you can start enjoying your X. |

All is good, everything was fine, nothing burnt. I was trying to view the screen from the driver's seat and did not realize that flipping the LCD all the way forward turned it off. Thanks for the reply. |

| Thanks for posting this. I had the same issue. Bought my 07 sport & ent package and when I tried out the dvd in the back, it wasn't working. I kept fiddling with the controls for about an hour. Thought I was doing something wrong. Couldn't find anything. So I came on this site and saw your post. I was very relieved because I thought my brand new car was already broken. Took my car in yesterday and sure enough, I told the service guy to check the fuse. That was definitely the issue. If this is happening to a lot of people, Acura needs to put a bulliten out or something. They are going to have a lot of frustrated buyers. Anyhow, I am happy it is fixed. I bought the sport & ent package for $43,465. I think I got a great deal so, other than the DVD, no other complaints. The car is great!:D |

| I think its a safety issue. If you push the screen too far forward, I guess Acura figures the driver might try to look at the screen while driving. Gotta love lawyers. |

| It's also the law in many states. You can't install a DVD screen in a position that can be seen by the driver while the engine is on. |
