I drove the new Mazda CX-9 yesterday, unfortunately in base FWD trim. My initial impression wasn't especially positive. I don't care for the driving position or exterior styling, and the handling seemed very competent rather than enjoyable. I enjoyed driving the new MDX more.
The top trim is about $4,000 less than a base MDX after adjusting for differences in standard features. The main advantage of the Mazda is that the two-person third row has a bit more legroom.
