BLACK-BLING-MDX
Ok guys, I'm about to pull the trigger once again and I need some resassurance/feedback.

2007 Acura MDX Formal Black w/ Ebony Leather Sports Package

He is giving it to me for $1500 over invoice. He has the one I want sitting on his lot ready to go.

43,500 plus tax, title, license fees.

Good deal? Should I try for more?

These are the accessories I want to add:

Selected Interior Accessories

Acura Music Link (for iPodŽ) $189.00
Wood-Grain Steering Wheel $549.00
Auto Day/Night Mirror $229.00
Wood-Grain Shift Knob $119.00
Acura Music Link (for iPodŽ) Cable $15.00
Auto Day/Night Mirror Attachment $65.00
Acura Music Link (for iPodŽ) Attachment $10.00

Selected Exterior Accessories

Front Lower Garnish $259.00
Roof Rails $219.00
Side Body Molding $239.00
Rear Lower Garnish $275.00
Sport Running Boards $560.00

With accessories at MSRP, the total comes to $46,228. Taking in account the considerable markup for these accessories, what end price should I aim for?

I was thinking to make him give it to me for $45,000 + tax and everything.

The accessories are $2728. I'm giving him $1500 for those accessories. Do you think he'll take it? What's a reasonable offer for those accessories?

Reply soon! I'm going in tonight!! Thanks guys! You're the best!

I think that is a great deal!

Especially, if all those accessories are "installed".

I don't think he'll take $45K out the door! But, you can always try.
efenska
That's a pretty reasonable deal for the MDX but the accessories are pricey. FYI, you need roof rack AND roof rails. I would check the prices against what you can get them installed for via Honda's eStore. You can pick your dealer and see the prices their service department will give you, installed or not. They are usually lower, and the sales guy will likely honor the price.

Have you seen the MusicLink operate? I would watch out for this one! Awful pricey for an iPod charger and a line-in accessory. Make the salesperson demo it for you. I bought the Sik imp I found on another thread for $30 and plugged mine in the aux jack in the console. Set it on shuffle and forget it. If they ever get the MusicLink working as advertised I would go back for it - but for their price I want to see some song info on the nav screen!

Good luck!

I thought the Acura Music Link was a waste of money since it doesn't work very well?

Oh, those prices are from the Acura.com website, they are MSRP and what I am basing stuff off of. So, the MusicLink does not work with the radio? Does it not show the songs, and can you not scroll through them?
stoke2
Do NOT buy the iPod music link. Complete waste of money. As said prior, hook it up in the AUX input, put on shuffle and have at it.

As far as what you are paying, I'd recommend looking at this thread.

http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...&threadid=27328

As you read through, you'll see some information about purchasing through AAA. If you do so, you'll only pay $1500 over invoice and you'll pay 20% off accessories. I'd look into that before you buy. It's a great option and there's no negotiation.

I also agree about the roof rails AND cross bars. The roof rails are kind of useless without the cross bars.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I have the black/Ebony Tech package and LOVE it.

enjoy!
BLACK-BLING-MDX
Ok, so I'm NOT getting the MusicLink! haha thanks

Park Acura of Akron is going to beat my quote of 43,500 by 300-400 dollars. I'm going to take them down to 43,000.

Right now I'm debating if I should get the Entertainment Package. Is it worth it? $1300... I already regret not getting NAV in my '03... Will I regret this as well?

GET THE NAVI!

With the extra 2K call TIM for those accessories! GET THE NAVI !

You may never use the RES. (Rear Entertainment System) -- But, GET THE NAV SYSTEM! (Then take the time to learn it ... Red lights - waiting for the spouse - etc)

You won't regret it!
BLACK-BLING-MDX
Oh, I got the Navi! That's not even a question. I'm trying to get a Sport/Tech package including destination for $44,375. I think that's a damn good deal. It's roughly $379 over invoice! They're dealin' guys! If they have them on the lot, they want your business!!
sobrien1087
You've done your homework. The deal sounds great. Definitely get the Navi and RES. I'm amazed how my kids zone out when the headphones go on and the eyes look up. Wood grain accessories are a nice to have, as opposed to a need to have item in my book. You can always go through someone like Tim after the fact on that. I had Acura install the roof rails and crossbars, as I didn't want to deal with that myself. They were more like a "need to have" item for me. I think 45K is optimistic with all those accessories, especially since the MSRP excluded installation (unless I read that incorrectly). You seem like a pretty determined consumer, so you may very well get the deal. Best of luck. You'll enjoy the car immensely!
BLACK-BLING-MDX
I'm at $43,000 for the Sports package, now I will add accessories and see what it comes out to with tax, title and license. $43,000 is roughly $1000 over invoice and for what I'm hearing from other dealers, it's a pretty good deal. My kids are 16+, they have their iPods and portable dvd players. We rarely go on trips as a family anymore, two kids in college, one kid in private school. If anything, we usually end up taking two cars! I don't see the need for adding the entertainment package. So that's that!

The power liftgate is sure nice...need to get the entertainment package for that.

Skip IPOD music link. Also, the wood grain steering wheel does not seem to add much, but that is just my opinion.

When I arrived at work this morning (architecture office) trying to balance out a rolled up set of drawings that weighed around 15 lbs., two large code books, a portfolio and steaming cup of coffee, which was needed to counter the 8 degree air temperature, the power liftgate was very much a welcomed addition in my book!

I agree that the power lifegate is very nice. We had it on our previous vehicle and I *had* to have one on my new vehicle too. But if you do get the entertainment package you will not have the AUX jack. With the ent package they take that away and give you a plug in so then you might need the IPod link.
krafty81
I don't think that is correct. The AUX jack in my 07 tech/ent is on the rear of the center console. I think on others it may be INSIDE the center console. Works great - no need for IPOD music link.

I'm going with the Sport package. Getting it for 42,670 + tax, title, license.

Accessories:
Sport Running Boards
Bodyside Molding
Roof Rails
Cross Bars
Front Lower Garnish
Rear Lower Garnish
All-Season Floor Mats
Cargo Tray
Auto Day/Night Mirror
Wood Grain Steering Wheel
Wood Grain Shiftknob

She's doing it out the door with accessories and installation for $49,459.72. Those are HER prices though. Not Tim's ;-).

Trying to get her to match Tim's prices and then some, she's gonna call me back. Will let you guys know. BTW, this is Park Acura in Akron, OH.

OMG really?? When we got the car we read in the manual about the AUX jack and it said it was in the console and then we read it was deleted if you got ent. Sooo we never looked anywhere else for it! Awesome! Thanks you just made my day! Can't wait to tell my hubby...do you mind if I don't give you credit for telling me?!? JK :p

Nice job, especially in the Midwest, where you don't benefit from the higher concentration of competitive dealers! Enjoy.:claphead:

Does "out the door with accessories and installation for $49,459.72" include TTL or do they want 7 grand for those accessories??

That's what I was thinking......Where is the $7000.00 grand coming from ?????????????????????????????????????????
krafty81
fosters2 - No problem - plug in the IPOD and check it out...
MDX4now
The out-the-door price probably includes the 7%-8% tax on the 40-something thousand dollars.
stoke2
Yes, the out the door is tax, title and license. You might want to see what they offer on an extended warranty too.

I also bought GAP coverage for my car. That tacked on some change.

That sounds like a good deal. I got mine in New Jersey with sport package as well around the same price. But the dealer included Cargo Cover, Cargo Tray, All Weather Mats, Door Edge Guards, and Wheel Locks.
I also got the sport running boards installed but I paid extra for it.
Good luck with it. It's a fun ride.
BLACK-BLING-MDX
Alrighty guys! DONE DEAL!

Sports package for $42,670.

Accessories:
Sport Running Boards
Bodyside Molding
Roof Rails
Cross Bars
Front Lower Garnish
Rear Lower Garnish
All-Season Floor Mats
Cargo Tray
Auto Day/Night Mirror
Wood Grain Steering Wheel
Wood Grain Shiftknob

For $3027 installed.

Total with tax @ 6.25%, documentation fee of $250, title and license came to...

$48,845 out the door. With all those accessories and me paying $670 over MSRP, I think I got a great deal. What do you guys think?
stoke2
Was that Sport AND Tech? I thought you were getting the Navi?
Husker4theSpurs
Let's get this straight folks :) ... SPORT includes the TECH package, so if someone says they're getting the SPORT, they will have the NAV and everything else that goes with the TECH package.
