| Maybe this is normal operation but there is this very annoying clicking sound whenever I shift into and out of gear.... Im not sure if anyone else's MDX makes this sound whenever they shift gears.... Dealer claims it normal but I didnt expect a brand new car to make these types of noises... Anyone else notice this noise when shifting? Turn down the music and roll down the window and shift into and out of gear several times to see if you hear it too..... |

| Unfortunately it is normal for this gear box, in fact my wife's new TL makes the same noise when shifting in and out of park. It doesn't inspire confidence does it? |

I must tune this out because I don't sense anything unusual or notice a clicking noise. But I have to confess my experience with automatic transmissions is very limited. This is the first car in my life that has an auto trans in 9 cars.

| interesting that 2 people have the sound and three say they dont have it.... Im bringing the truck in to get the SRS light turned off so Ill definitely bring it to the attention of the service folks.... but for those that say they couldnt notice anything seriously try listening for a noticeable clicking sound when you shift.... lower the music all the way and the driver window to hear it, you cant hear it otherwise... the car doesnt lurch into gear which would really worry me but it definitely makes this sound.... lets see if anyone else notices it on their car..... |

| With the windows down, in the parking garage (good echo), I can hear the sound. Always assumed it was normal. I recall a previous thread to that effect as well. |

| when going into park after driving it into my garage. Going reverse to park also clicks. I think this is normal. There may be some variations in the loudness of clicks in different cars, but I never thought that mine was loud enough to be a problem. Please let us know what your mechanics say. |

| service guy says its normal for this gearbox... not sure why some have it and some dont or maybe all have it but dont identify it as a clicking sound... at any rate as long as it doesnt indicate any problems I might have later on im fine with it but it doesnt inspire confidence.... |
