I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread that would have exclusive postings of the following, all in one format:
Year: XXXX(assuming this thread stays alive past 07)
Trim Level: Base/Tech/Sport/SportEnt/TechEnt
Color: Interior/Exterior
Price Paid: Vehicle Price before TTL and accesories. The "Negotiated Price"
Options and Option Pricing: Options and individual or total prices, "free" if thrown in
Dealership: Dealership, City, State
I think this would be helpful to those trying to find the best deal on their MDX.

Why would this help anyone? What one person did at one dealer, in one location, on a specific day, with a unique salesman really has no bearing on what someone else could deal elsewhere.

But you can look at the aggregate and get an idea of what the vehicle is worth in the marketplace. I know it will help me.:D |

I've been watching the Internet sites like Edmunds, Car.com, etc. and they are still not waivering from the MSRP as TMV. I'm sure there are other forums like this that are showing similar deals being made out there by those who have taken the time to be knowlegable consumers. I wish they would take a look at forums like this to better reflect a TMV that comes down from the MSRP benchmark. That's only putting more ammo in the dealer's hands. |

Well I had thought to start this thread because I want something concrete people can show car dealerships "here are testimonies" and say look, give me that.
Edmunds and the like don't give good estimates. Anyway, I got them down to 42,500 on a Sport MDX, now we just need to see what our family finances are like.

Nothing official yet. I'm sure he'll find some hidden fees, if we even go with them.
However, I have watched my local dealership's inventory grow from 43 to 57 to 63 and now 80 over the past few times I have checked. They have 16 Sports, 3 in the color we want. So, I am going to stop by tomorrow, I need to pick up a crush washer anyway.

| Um... wow! That's a huge inventory!! I'm sure you can do $500 over invoice. I did mine for $670 over invoice. |

I hope so. The salesman we bought our TL from (under invoice with fewer on the lot, albeit 2005) no longer works there, and we have dealt with the current guy for a while, but he's been stubborn. My dad is too nice, if he won't budge I'll just contact their online sales department.
The thing I hate is my dad tries to tell me he has more life experience(true) and is better at buying cars(not true) than me. I have watched him make mistake after mistake at the dealership and on the phone.
Basically our situation is this:
We have Acura of Boston 3 miles away, and they are enormous, and we got an excellent deal from them last time. Then we have Acura of Providence an hour away, which supposedly gets inventory they need from AoB, but has so far been much better with the pricing.
Also, my parents are waiting for when they are financially comfortable with making the purchase. So its maybe, wait, maybe, wait, which doesn't make my job any easier.

Official numbers at one dealership are $42,504 and $41,000 for sport and tech respectively. Now I just need to convince my parents the sport package is worth it.
