Hello everyone! Newbie here. Picked up our Steel Blue/Taupe Sport X last Friday. Only a 100 miles on it so far. X is at the dealer for warranty service. Radio lost most ability to receive frequencies AM/FM. Honda told dealer to replace radio unit, and send the defective unit back to them for inspection/teardown. Dealer has to order new unit, X won't be ready until Tuesday! What a bummer! We love this vehicle.power, looks, technology, comfort etc. this suv rocks!
Installed running boards ourselves, Yes wife got underneath the X to help me crank on those bolts. Took us 3 hours to do. Was gonna wax the X today and install the BSMs, but shes' in the shop.
Love this forum, lots of great info, and great people who share our love for the MDX!!! |

| That sucks. At least it's not a mechanical problem. Have em update the radio head unit software while it's there, if you fall under the appropriate VIN. |

I haven't formally analyzed my data for this, but my gut sense is that head unit failures are fairly common in many cars. I get the sense that audio systems aren't durability tested as much as a car's other electrical systems.
I'll have initial reliability information on the new MDX in May. A couple dozen owners have signed up to participate in my research, many from this forum. Thanks, guys. |
