My wife, who uses the Key #2, was using the MDX today and when she hit Go Home, there was no address. When she told me I said BS, but when I checked, sure 'nough no addresses in the Address Book. I was not aware each driver had to enter all the addresses. Am I missing something? If this is true, that really sucks!!!

YES, each driver needs enter their own sets of addresses.:(

One thing about "Home" that we've discussed here, you may not want to put your address in there. If someone steals the car, they can get to your house and probably open your garage door, among other things. Use a nearby but less-specific location, or name it something else.

I agreed. If you are going to store you home address under "HOME", passcodes are highly recommended.:4:

That's not a very good design. I guess she will need to use Key # !.

That's true, but we keep the registration & insurance card in the glovebox (which is where most do) so a car thief would find the address anyway.

I thought we can share the address book per the manual I read some time back. I think there is a way, you will have to check the manual.

I had the same trouble on XM settings. Those go per the key used.

I discovered this one evening after my wife had taken out the X using the Driver 2 keys. When I later turned the car over with my (Driver 1) key, I noticed everything was wiped out, including all my NAV and XM presets. Also, in the information display, the message "Welcome Driver 2" appeared, despite the use of my own keys.

I tried restarting the car, and it still didn't reset. It was only after I got out, LOCKED the car again, and then unlocked it with my (Driver 1) keys that it recognized me as Driver 1, and all the radio presets and NAV entries came back.

This may be explained in the manual - I didn't look at the time.

So I guess I'm wondering if the opposite would hold true - what happens if you DON'T lock the car, and then place a Driver 2 key in the ignition. I would think all the Driver 1 settings should still come up, and you should then be able to press the Memory Settings button for Driver 2.

Then after you lock the car, and reopen it again with Driver 2 keys, I'd hope all your settings would carry over.

Has anyone tried this?

I think you are right, but I wish that both drivers had access to the same address book. What we are going to do is both of us will use Key # 1 and she will just hit #2 on the door panel for her seat position. When we get back from FL I will look through the manual to see if there are any better options for sharing the address book.

My theory failed. The Driver 1 settings did reappear when I turned on the car with Driver 2, but once I locked it, everything went away. Damn....

Or the manual might have said out of 250 entries it can hold, two drivers can share the slots, but, they may be seen by individual drivers only. Privacy matters, you know what I mean. All these privacy policies we get in mail now a days!!!
