Both of our keys reported 'Driver 1'. Then I discovered that when I first unlock with the key it does recognize the right key.
Might makes sense but I was hoping the ignition would recognize since we usually don't lock the doors in our garage.
One thing that I still don't get to work though is to automatically select the corresponding seat memory settings. Now it just stays whatever was selected last. I don't think I changed this. So need to do more reading unless someone knows how to fix this. |

That is so the seat is adjusted to your setting before you get in. It doesn't matter too much to drivers that are around the same size. However, I am tall and my wife is short - I can't even get into the vehicle with her settings. |

Does the seat automatically change when you use the key?
It doesn't for me. I have to manually select the memory setting.
I wonder if that's because I turned off telescopic & tilt settings (which I thought would exclude seat memory). |

On a 2003, you unlock with the correct key fob - then opening the door triggers the seat movement. |

Doh, that's it. I was trying inside the vehicle to see if it works...
Also noticed that the steering wheel repositions as soon as you insert the key in the ignition.
All problems solved, thanks a lot:-) |

And the engine starts as soon as you turn it!
I love these new fangled cars. |

| You can unlock with the key or select the button on the door. One key should be programmed for "Driver 1" and the other for "Driver 2". I believe the care must be in Park for the door buttons to reposit the wheel and seat. |
