Has anyone else noticed there heat taking longer to kick-in each year?
When new (2000) the heat would be blasting within a 1/4 mile of driving.
It now takes almost a mile of driving before blasting from the vents or I just go start the engine a few minutes before I want to leave.
Anyone now why it takes longer or how to rejuvenate this system? |

Does your engine still warm up at the same rate or does it stay cooler longer? If staying cooler longer than you have a thermostat problem.

I've been wondering the same. 2002 takes longer every year too.

Not really sure if the engine stays cool longer or not. I would have to say the engine is the same.
How does the thermostat make the engine stay cool longer? |

If the thermostat does not close, or does not close maximum, then more coolant is circulated as soon as you start the vehicle. The more coolant circulated the slower the engine heats to normal operating temperature.
