How To Manually Enter "Phone Directory" with HFL ? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hello to everyone....

After reading and learning alot on this forum over the past few months and finally getting a 2007 MDX with Tech Package....I am ready for my first post and question:

I realize most cell phones are NOT able to import the list of phone numbers directly (my LG phone included), but I am having trouble figuring out how to enter them manually ?? Is there a way to manually enter a personal phone directory so that the list of names and numbers can then appear as a list on the Nav Screen?

I have saved some contacts by verbally speaking & saving them so they are voice activated by name, but I would also like to see my contacts on a list that I can scroll through and select as needed.

In the "personal information" section of the Menu, I did see where you can save a person's name, address and phone number that can be recalled, but that would then require you to add a person "3" times if you want to list their Home Phone, Work Phone and Cell Phone.

In the owner's manual, there is a picture of the various Icons that identify Home, Work and Cell, but it looks like they can only be activated if your phone let's you do the "import" function. I want to be able to store a person's name, and once that name is selected, I will see their respective phone numbers with the Home, Work and Cell icons listed......

Hope this makes sense....Can anybody help me with this ?

Thanks,
Beski

You can enter them as voice commands, but they do not show up as a list on a page anywhere.

I agree...I wish there was a way to list those numbers on the Nav screen. But how could the system list them since the names are recordings in our voice.

Best bet would to get the contacts phone# and addresses (you call often while driving ), add them in the navigation. From navigation menu, one can call the numbers which go thru HFL/Bluetooth like default Home Destination we can have.
