Will someone who has command of Photoshop do me a favor? Pick a black 07, and blacken out the aluminum front grill pieces, on the top and bottom of the chrome A with its chrome 'wings'.
I've got this customizing idea, see-

That's a pretty good first post! Thanks- I like my customizing idea. I think I'll have to get some Formal Black into my spray gun when it warms up.
Just02
What about putting a tint on it?

Totally off topic, but how do you like your MDX? Also, thanks for the welcome.

Interesting idea. What about painting the front and rear grey trim piece black too, for an all-ebony mean-looking marauding steed?

This would look really cool with cleared headlights, IMHO.

Cleared headlights:

I'll try to do the bumper and get it back to ya guys soon. By the way, did you want to see the cleared headlights on the other one?

Man, you're da bomb. Sure wouldn't hurt to see it. Maybe Acura will start putting out A-spec versions of the MDX with different body moulding/skirt/lights.

That is probably next years slight change.....I'm sure they have a few up their sleeves.....Lilke adding a white strip to the rear lights? Wanna make a bet ?

That grill looks so much better blackened......
BaldEagle
The front grill still looks like Bucky Beaver to me.

I thought about that, but I'd like to keep the non-painted surface. I suspect it may be easy to scratch a painted plastic surface in big city parking duels.

I just tried matching the bumper. It came out okay but don't paint your bumper…_it just doesn't look right. However, if the plastic was flush with the bumper it'd look great. :)
BLACK-BLING-MDX
post the picture! i'm almost about to pull the trigger to get it painted!
Just02
Okay. So Maybe it does look pretty hot. :creep: :2:

The original photoshop I made looked pretty... choppy. This looks a lot smoother. Also, the factory grille (not black) looks good with a painted bumper, too.

It might also reduce your chance of being lasered, especially in states that don't require a front plate. Just a thought.

What a great idea, shootist! And thanks, Just02, for lending your Photoshop skills.

Acura should take note … the grille looks so much better blackened, IMHO. I don’t care as much for the matching bumper though.

I just noticed that another member had already done this "mod" - grille
sobrien1087
For all those who pursue the airbrush this summer, keep us posted on how it holds up over time.

I'm just not convinced any type of paint on top of this grille is going to stand up to the dings it receives from the gravel flying into it.

After all that grille (which I believe was supposed to mimic the front bowl of a ship - I read that somewhere) is literally on the front lines for anything flying up off the tarmac.

Yes, but I posted the idea first. My copyright attorney will be contacting him shortly.
But his paint job proved the point- I think it looks really good.
highmath
That is one of the best mod ideas I have heard or seen for the new 07s. :fatyo: Big props to you, shootist! :29:

My wife and I have been looking at MDXs and came to one conclusion. The grey clading on front bumper makes or breaks the MDX for me. We saw a black and it didn't look too bad. The MDX in all colors with the grey cladding makes the front end look ugly. I love the Aspen Pearl color MDX. I will probably end up color matching the bumper to the rest of the MDX if I decide to go that route. The photoshpped one looks hot.
Shleets
This is an easy mod to do on your own.

Oh my god, I didn't follow this thread often.

Is that my X. Thanks for taking time and using it to see if how it looks.

Some one posted a Cherry one with grayed grill, I was thinking on black X, factory one looks OK.

This is a nice alternative.

Appreciate it on showing how I may change the look. Go for it.
