"Maybe this is normal operation but there is this very annoying clicking sound whenever shifting in and out of gear (P to R and N to R).... Does anyone else's MDX makes this sound whenever they shift gears.... Dealer claims it normal. Anyone else notice this noise when shifting?" |

Thanks, make sure it is steep grade. would you try this too? At hiway speed - roll down the driver's side rear window ONLY. Roll down all the way and tell me if you get this extremely deafening acoustical reverberation. thanks again. |

| Several months ago I posted a question about the Snap/Click sound which came from my console when the engine was started in PARK. Did not a single response or comment as to a potential problem. Only happens when ignition occurs, not while shifting. |

Is this the same problem I registered in the Knowledge Base?

Doubt if we are on the same page. The SNAP occurs when your hand is on the ignition key, not the shift lever.
Once the ignition occurs, the tranmission shifts smootly with little or no noise. |

| ... if the noise is road grade related, I will not be able to test it anytime soon. Houston is flat, flat, flat ... |
