| Is it just me or is anyone else having voice command issues? I say, clearly and in a normal pace, XM radio on and I get "fan speed 5" or some other ridiculous response. It's the same for navigation commands or any other commands for that matter. Any suggestions? Thanks! (by the way, I've looked over the recognized voice commands in the Navigation information booklet to make sure I'm using the correct vocabulary;) |

| Yup, same problem here. I kind of resign to stop using the voice command most of the time. Nice concept, only if it works. |

Same problem here. When I asked it to play CD track 23 it would instead turn on the A/C and max the fan. I am very annoyed sometimes. |

| Ditto. I've stopped showing people the feature. It's a joke most of the time. |

| Yep, same problem with ours! It was funny at first, but now it's annoying. It just flat out doesn't work well. |

I don't have any problem use the voice command. However, I do notice that after you press and release the TALK button, wait 1 second then you give the command. A lot of time the system is not ready to capture your voice command right after you release the button.
Most of the system recognize lower frequency than high pitch. Sometime I let my kids play with feature and ask 'What time is it?' The X has no problem when my 8 yrs old son try it, but it never get it right when my 5 yrs old daughter play with it, she was devastated by it:crying: |

I have no problem as long as I exactly say the command as stored.
I did notice that the MDX just takes a wild guess if it doesn't understand the command. For instance the (non-existing) command 'volume up' results in radio off or ac on.
I also notice I can't say '1' in the navigation menu (instead I have to say 'cancel current route'. Seems a bug since it does work elsewhere. |

When I was ready to drive mine off the lot about a month ago, the same thing happened - the voice recognition lost it's mind and couldn't understand a single command. The poor sales guy had 10 people standing around trying to figure it out, but nobody could. They were close to swapping out the car for another MDX when the sales guy cleared the key memory and relinked the key, locked and unlocked the door, started up the car with the newly linked key and it started working again! I don't know if what he did had any effect at all, but I was relieved. |

It's you. :D
It's also me. The only thing I do now that works is SETUP, DISPLAY, etc. BTW, my '03 Accord has a lot more commands available than my '04 X, which means that there a lot more that I don't use. |

| i'm pretty sure that if she says "pardon" than you are hitting the bluetooth button. If you hit the voice recognition she will either give the correct/incorrect command or not say anything |

| I have delivered many 07 MDX's as well as the previous models. If you hit the talk button and wait for the beep and then talk it is not an issue. It is the same for the bluetooth. If you hit the button and do not let go or talk before the beep then the car will not understand you. I have demonstrated and sold many of these cars and never have an issue with them. Most of the time it is user error. |

| I think you have to be on the right screen for some of the commands to work. For example, if you say "go home" you should be on the NAV screen. At least thats what I have noticed. |

You're one of the lucky ones then! I've sat in my driveway w/ the manual in my hands and followed it to a tee. I've pushed the correct buttons and I can also confidently say that I am competent enough to know that I should speak AFTER I hear the beep and not before. Thanks for helping out! :hmmm: |

| I agree with the others' posts - wait a second after hitting the talk button before saying the "exact command" in a clear voice; the system gets my commands right most of the time. Also, the windows need to be closed, fan is not on high (not noisy) and it would help if you're facing the mic (located near the map lights). |

OK- so it's concluded- YOU are defective, and should bring your voice in for a service visit.
Because if it's not YOU, then it's the MDX, and I just can't adust to the fact that the technology in my new toy could be weak. |

Wow! Who would've known that buying the new MDX would make a person defective? I guess I should take a little comfort in knowing that at least I'm not the only one with this particular defect.:eek I love my new toy just as much as the next guy but I'd like all of my cool features to work when I'm showing them off to friends and family! |
