I has hoping to get some feedback from some of you who own these vehicles. The wife and I are in the market for a used luxury sedan. I think I have narrowed the field to the above 3 players.
I am thinking we are looking from the 2002-2004 area. Please give me some feed back on these vehicles if you own/owned both positive and negative.
My priorities are: reliable, roomy, price, manufacturer support (i.e. service/warranty work), and ergonomics.

| Had a 2002 RL. Excellent car for the money. No probs except for battery dying. Fit and finish and rear seat room were very good. The 2004 is even better, with additional sound dampening and voice activated NAV. Acura had perfected the last of the second gen RL at this point, as Fabvsix will surely tell you. It's very similar to the MB sedans of the corresponding years. The only drawback is the fuel economy, which averaged just over 18 MPG during the time I owned it. |

Not too worried about that. Cant be worse than my pickup.

We have already spoken. He has given me a ton of good info on the RL. I am in no hurry to buy so I am going to wait on the right deal on the vehicle. I just want to have a few options to choose from so I am not pigeon holed on one manufacturer. I think I probably cant go wrong with either of the three.

| Have you considered a Lexus LS? The older gen have a slight advantage over the comparable RL in terms of luxury touches, and the price has dropped considerably with the introduction of the new gen. |

I'm sure he told you the the 2004 is the only one you should consider. The 2004 had updated/refined things that make it worthwhile. 2003 and earlier models had a gauge cluster that has a tendency for the illumination bulbs to go out, leaving a section unlit. Any good tech will want to replace all the bulbs since it's such a pain to go in there and replace them. Plus the 2004 has a more modern and luxurious looking center stack. |

Yes he did. Pretty much gave me the history of the model. The last "legend" model refined to the max for a decade. Dont get me wrong its tops on my list but like I said I want to have some options.
I have seen the '04 RL's around here from anywhere from 19k to 29k so people seem to have differing opinions of their value. Just laying in the weeds waiting for an offer I can refuse.

I havent ruled it out which one in particular? |

If you can find an LS430 2004 to 2006 CPO with the Ultra Luxury package under $36K (nearly 20K under the original base price), good luck. 2004 saw the addition of BlueTooth and other add-ons like swivel HIDs. The base model with optional packages like DVD nav, etc. may be less expensive.
It still is certainly pricier than the competition but it had been rated as "Best Car Ever" by JD Powers in terms of reliability and resale value at one point during the 2004-2005 run. Some would say it's a boring car but then again, it's not designed to be a sporty sedan. And its NAV will never match the Acura navigation system (not yet at least). |

Thanks DJ
I will keep my eyes open. I am trying to limit myself to under 25k though so this one might be out of my league.
The 3 I mentioned I should be able to get under 25k with low miles so I can do an extended warranty or if I buy direct get cpo'd.
But doesnt hurt to have another model in mind if I can get close... |

It's just a name. The 3.5RL, and now the RL was and still is the Honda Legend everywhere else in the world. |

I wish Acura would redesign and remarket the RL and bring back the Legend name. |

| Check out the Lexus GS, you should be able to get a 01-02 GS430 with low miles at that price. I love mine. |
