I’ve been told, by the dealer, not to have my accessories color-keyed cuz the paint would crack and peel off over time. Has anyone with color-keyed accessories experienced any problems with the paint peeling or cracking?
I look forward to your responses….
Gotta go the auto broker just called – my MDX is ready for delivery (requested on Monday and delivered on Friday).:D :D |

Welcome to the board, oh ye of enthusiasm for stinky fish :)
I'd defer to Tim (hondacuraworld) on this. I know he's pretty meticulous on any accessories that are painted.
Tim, any thoughts on this? |

| I have not had any problems with my painted fender flares, but I've only had them a few months. |

When we paint accessories, we add flex agents to the paints when necessary, such as in the flares and lower trim. THe tailgate deflector is a hard plastic piece similar to, well, hard plastic.
Put simply, it's no different than painting a plastic bumper fascia. I stand behind my reputation with everything that I paint here. |

Thanks everyone for your replies... I'm putting together my wish list for Tim today. I thing the dealer that I spoke to just didn't want to be troubled with color-keying to begin with (IMO).
AtlantaMDX, Thanks for the welcome. I've been reading everyone's posts for a few months now (I've been an Anonymous Coward). As for my alias (TunaGeek) well just say "Hook em, Clean em, and Eat em raw":) |
