Steering wheel vibration over 65 mph - Click HERE for Original Thread

On 2007 MDX, anyone notice steering wheel vibration (typically a wheel balance problem on other cars) over 65 mph?

I notice this first week of driving and took it to dealer but they said the specs are 65 mph and the wheels are balanced accordingly.

I plan to take it to another shop and see what they have to say but wanted to see if others have had similar experience or not.

Thanks

I have been doing 80mph with no problems. So smooth I forget sometimes I am doing 80mph. Occassionally I hit some stretches of the freeway where it appears to have new asphalt and looks smooth however it is not and it does feel like there is some vibration. The vibration is not really at the steering wheel but more at the wheels. Then I hit a different stretch of the freeway and it is all smooth again so I'm sure it is not my car. Try taking your car on a different stretch of the freeway and see if the issue still exists. If so I would take the MDX to a different dealership and have them check the balancing and allignment of the MDX.

It definitely should NOT vibrate. Take it back and get it fixed. I've hit 85 mph and though I was going 60 because the MDX is so smooth.

Get a road force balance for the tires and rotate them around to see if the vibration changes.

update: First, the problem with my MDX was with steering wheel vibration at above 70 mph.

After wheel balancing and road force balancing at dealer the problem remained.
Today, all four rims and tires were replaced with new ones.

So far this seems to have solved the problem.

I am going on a road trip this weekend and will test drive again. Will post another update here next week.

Service Manager and technician were very co-operative.
