Apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I did do a search and couldn't find an answer.

Has anyone had any luck in getting their address book imported to the HFL system on any phones OTHER than Sony Ericsson? On the Acura HFL web page there aren't any others listed that appear to work.

Thanks in advance.

I've looked into it and it seems that only the sony's work for now. I have a Razr with 250+ numbers and it doesn't link. I just bought a used sony on e-bay for $10 that I plan to upload with my info & then link to the MDX...update to follow.

Old post:

Synching Cell Phone
Well I managed to snych my Blackberry 8100 Pearl with the MDX. I just kept trying as someone else had suggested and on the 4th try it just worked, a bit odd, but I was happy to get it to work.

My wife has a Verizon Razr and I could not get that to synch, so I used our mac to synch her phone with an old Sony Ericcson T68i and the T68i was able to synch with the MDX.

Why are there 3 areas you can have phone numbers in this system? There is the HF phonebook, the Cellular Phonebook and you can have phone numbers in the addresses you input into the Nav system. They should just have 1 common address book for all systems, it is a bit confusing the way it is designed in the MDX.

Just an update on this subject....

I purchased a new Blackberry 8830 from Verizon on Monday. I had to hit the "Import Phonebook" a couple of times; but I'm pleased to say that I now have a fully functional cellular HFL phonebook.

NOTE: The first import I made (~500 entries) took about 5 minutes to import/load. I have since trimmed down my list to about 100 entries using the category filter in the phone's bluetooth/export setup for the phonebook export. This reduced the import/load time to less than a minute.

How do you like the 8830? I just picked one up today.

I like the size and features. The manual is awful; so figuring our how to customize it has been a little cumbersome.

It seems to pickup and lose signal quality without reason; but I have not noticed any service impact.

The keyboard it tight; but after a day or so; I beginning to get the hang of it.

It also seems pretty fast compared to other unit's I've gotten to demo in the past (I was a long-time hold-out on buying a crack-berry).

I am glad I read this post. I wasn't even going to try the import because my sony-ericson phone is a less popular brand and I figured it wouldn't be supported. Thanks for the info.

Alsea,

I see you live in the Bay Area, wondering if I could use your Sony Ericcson T68i to upload my contacts.
