Wife was driving the MDX when she first noticed the memory seat did not work, then the voice recognition system did not work, and then the transmission started shifting funky. After she stopped, she could not get it out of drive. She turned the MDX off and tried to shift into park but to no avail. Tried it a couple times. She called Acura to have it towed to the dealer. While waiting for the tow truck to arrive (about 15 min), the shifter was able to be placed into park and everything seemed to work fine. Still had it towed to the dealer.
It was cold rainy day and I suspect a ground may be the culprit. Checked the battery cables and they were tight. Anybody got any ideas or ever heard of this happening?
MDX has only 1300 miles. hope this is not a sign of things to come. |

Memory seat function can't be used unless the vehicle is in Park, so this is probably not related to the other two symptoms.
My voice recognition system crashed once. It kept asking "Pardon?" Fixed itself after "alt cntrl delete" of engine shutoff. Never happened since.
Transmissiion shifting funky? That's a new one. Any chance she had inadvertantly shifted into the left Tiptronic shift gate? |

I think the "shift gate" needs to be better designed as I've put it in "N" twice now because of the design......Once I thought I was in D3, so I push the level one more click up and wham! It went into "neutral" and scared the day lights out of me......
Same for the rear heater buttons....When I get in and "lean" on the arm rest to get in, my arm/elbow hits the buttons to the rear heater seats and turns them on......bad design Acura, move those buttons ! |

| Perhaps your wife had it in "manual matic mode" and was hitting the rev limiter!!! Which describes the "funky" shifting or trying to shift......I think paddle shifters would have been a better design with an option as we have it........ |
