Has any one know or purchased the TIRE AND RIM WARRANTY. If so what was cost? How do you go about purchasing it? What does it cover.

We got it (stupidly) on the TL... Unless it covers curbing the rims its not worth it. We have hit potholes HARD in the TL, with lower profile tires, and nothing happened. If you manage to damage an MDX rim you will probably have hit a hole big enough you can take it up with the city.

I bought Tire Road Hazard Insurance from Discount Tires for my 07 MDX with Michellen Tires.
It cost a total of $117 for 4 tires and is for the life of the tire. It only covers the tire and not the wheel. The cost was a little over $36/tire and I told him that was too much and then he offered the 4 tires for the price of 3.
There are 700 dealers around the country that I can collect on it if I ruin a tire by running over something in the road. That cost is about half of the retail cost of one new tire.

This was much more than the $60 total I paid in 2000 for my 2001 MDX Goodyear tires.
I bought this insurance for my 01 MDX and did not use it except for one tire roataion and balance at no extra cost.
I did not buy it for my 04 MDX and needed it twice and had to pay the Acura Dealer about $230 twice for new tires since the damage was road hazard and no one else in town had the tire in stock. I could not find a Michellen dealer that would sell me Road Hazard insurance in Sep 04.

My Acura Dealer tried to sell me Tire Road Hazard Insurance for my 07 MDX for about $350 that included wheel replacement up to $400/Wheel. He also had a $250 package for coerage up to $200/Wheel. I did not get either of these. |
