In the April 2007 issue, the RDX and the MDX were compared to BMW X5. Very positive comments and review!

The summary....
"The new machine (MDX), sporting an extremely capable and demonstratively effective AWD system and a far livelier motor that offers better performance than its BMW competitor, is much more vehicle--and at a price 25% less than the BMW it represents not only a great value but a very compelling competitor indeed."

Some other comments:
"SH-AWD ..goes a long way in making Acura's light trucks handle very close to BMW's high standard - and in some cases exceeding it." Terry Shea

"Acura's navigation interface is similar to iDrive in that it is round; all other similarities end there, as the Acura device is easy to use."

------
My BMW driving husband wanted me to get the X5 instead of the MDX. Now, he often says "let's take your car today".

Marti,
Did they mention which trim level they tested (sport or non-sport)?

I was a little confused by the last sentence. I guess that is your own viewpoint and not something from the magazine article.:D
NewMDX4Marti
They tested the sport/entertainment model. They called it "ridiculously well equipped".

Yes, the last comment is mine.

I have not gotten the latest issue but will most likely skip Tech Talk and read that article first.

Find me a review from a professional or magazine writer who has tested a Non-Sport model and says it meets or exceeds the competition in handling. They all test the Sport.

I think when they're comparing it to a BMW X5 at around $50K, the sport comparison is fair.

Just trade in your Tech for a Sport and be done with this! :1:

I have to agree with Fabvsix and SullyC5er, I posted all the info about handling to end your last thread about the non-sport MDX handling. Anyone who frequents this board at all gets it already, you don't like the handling of your non-sport. I happen to disagree entirely and have many comparison points, and have made my points.

Does everyone of your posts have to be "I wish I bought the Sport..."? Enough already.

I had actually suggested in a different thread that he/she trade it in for an X5 or Cayenne. :D

I don't think our friend will truly be happy until he drives a true sports car or until (God forbid) he gets another ticket for doing a Nurgburgring on local streets.

I am very happy with my MDX so far. I always knew it was a great car, but i never thought it would be beating all its competitors in comparison tests in magazines. I am the type of person who doesnt really care how his or her car ranks to a so called panel of "experts", but i really didnt think it would make all this hype. I love my MDX so much that if someone offered me a fully loaded X5 3.0 si and an Acura MDX and told me to pick one, i'd pick the MDX. This car is staggering.
