Hi folks-

I have a 2004 Taffeta White MDX.

I did my first application of Zaino this weekend, and I noticed the following day that there are still swirl marks.

I followed all the steps (Dawn, Clay, Z7, Z6, Z5wZFX, Z6, Z5wZFX, Z6, Z2wZFX, Zg, Z2wZFX, Z6).

However, I noticed the following day that there are still some light swirl marks, probably because this is my first application and I didn't use enough layers of Z5.

Since the Z5 is supposed to fill in those swirl marks, and there are now a couple of layers of Z2 on top of that, do I need to start over so the Z5 can fill those layers?

Thanks in advance.

You can just apply Z5 on top of everything else.

Z6 on a soft cotton cloth is intended to remove the final swirl marks.
You don't have to start from scratch- you've laid down a lot of polymer already. If you've driven the vehicle, or it got any dust at all, wash it with z7 or any mild car wash (not Dawn this time) before you buff with Z6 or lay down another coat of Z2 or Z5.
You may have put too much down. Sal Zaino says if you don't let it dry, you're just smearing it around the finish. Try another buff the next time you wash it.

time ago - did you look at your paint carefully after you did the claybar? And after the claybar? I always try to look at it from all angles in the best light I can get before I start putting down the Zaino products. If the swirl marks are still there and they are so bad that you can probably never fill them in, you may have to use something like their ZAIO (Zaino All In One) on that spot/s since this has a mild abrasive AND it also leaves Zaino protection on the paint. If you still see them, you might need to try Zaino ZPC-Fusion, a paint cleaner, scratch remover that will get most scratches, swirls out but will remove all previous sealants, etc.. I have both products and of course, the ZPC is more aggressive than the AIO but its supposed to be.. You always want to try the least agressive product first, then if still there go a little more agressive on the product line. I think if you are really serious about getting the best possible finish, you might want to get some of their Clear Seal too, and after you get your swirls out, and get a few coats of Z5 - Z2 on, then put a few coats of Clear Seal and you wont believe how much more it shines and protects the finish.. Read up on it at their website - zainobros.com Good luck, DanF
