Hi

Just got my MDX and while i was looking at the front door hinge area i noticed inside the crack there .. just past the hinge area (while door is full open)

i saw a large block of styrofoam and i wonder

if this was something the dealer was supposed to remove from shipping or it it's there on purpose

the part that concerns me is that it seems kinda exposed to the elements and i've never seen styrofoam last in the elements

anyone know it it's supposed to be there and if it survives the elements?

thanks

Prolly part of shipping process. Need pics.

I am pretty sure that it is supposed to be there. I have seen it as well, and I assumed it was a sound/moisture barrier. It would be interesting to see everyone else’s thoughts. Again I assumed it was supposed to be there.

I have it as well. I'm leaving it alone.....

They all have it. I agree with MiaDad its a sound barrier.

Have seen it in my MDX and most acura cars. They could do a better job of "hiding" it from sight. There for sound proofing. It's styrofoam- sure it will last forever, longer than the rest of the vehicle!:2:

TL has black Styrofoam blocks visible as well.
