We had the windshield in our '03 MDX replaced today because it was cracked. I asked the installer about a problem we had had with the weather stripping along the driver's side of the windshield. There was about 6 inches of weather stripping that kept coming up out of the 'channel.' The installer told me that it is common with MDX's and Pilots. He called it a design flaw.
I have searched this forum and found nothing on that. Has anybody else had this problem? |

News to me. I've had my windshield replaced 2 or 3 times with no problems. Soon to be done again.
Regardless, presumably they warrantee their work so if it comes out again, they should fix it. |

| What do you mean about the weather stripping? How would that cause a cracked windshield? |

It didn't cause the windshield to crack. The fact that the windshield was cracked and the weather stripping was screwed up are separate issues.
The guy told us that the issue we had with the weather stripping not staying in its 'channel' is a design flaw with MDX's and Pilot's.
Thus far, we haven't had any problems with this new install. Of course, it's only been a couple weeks. |
