Nice to see, but what does it mean when they rank it right next to a Cadillac SRX. I'm gonna get it from all the Cadillac fans out their, but Consumer Reports places the 'ugly ducking' SRX in the black in almost every category ouside of bare performance and handling.
I realize this is largely a performance driven comparison, but they have had a love affair with the Cadillac for years in many different tests. If the Cadillac scores so well with Car & Driver, then why the $0 resale value on the street.

It does seem like C&D seems partial to the SRX ever since it was introduced. But I guess you could argue that Porsche and BMW drivers do the same thing - drive potentially unreliable vehicles just for the fun or prestige of it. |

Well, the fun is actual, while the problems are just potential.
There's also the question of how large the difference in reliability truly is. I'm working on clarifying that. |

Cadillac ads are splashed all over that page! They're not biased are they?
 |

There are multiple ads for the different manufacturers throughout the article. Volvo on the Volvo summary page, Acura on the MDX summary page, Lexus on the Lexus summary page/etc. If add placement is indicative of bias why did the Touareg finish next to last even though they have an add on the Touareg page? GM was just smart enough to place an add on the intro page. |

I'm thinking it's customary for the magazines' sales/marketing people to ask the product manufacturers to place ads whenever the manufacturer's products or people are featured in the magazines. Sometimes it also works another way... after we have placed enough ads in their publications, we'll ask them to write articles about our products or people.
Standard internet disclaimer: We don't do auto stuff. I am not a spokesperson. |
