We just got the "gas cap loose" message even though I always tighten the cap until it clicks a few times.
Has anyone else seen this on an '07? |

Two weeks ago my Gas cap door would not close and lock. The plastic plunger would not come out to lock the door when I pushed it close. I figured out how to take some needle nose pliers and pull the plunger out so the door would lock. I live in Florida, so this was not caused by cold weather. WD-40 lub did not help. I will add it to a list of stuff to fix next time I go to the dealer.
I also have a problem with my driver door handle. When trying to get in or out of the car the door handle does not open easily and it feels like the door is locked and takes a second to break loose before opening. This has been like this for about 4 weeks and WD-40 lub did not help. I took it to the dealer once and they said it did not seem bad, but could take it apart and look when I had time to leave the car. This seems to be worse sometimes and not as bad at other times.
I also have never been able to get the GPS Clock corrected on the screen that shows the real time and GPS Coordinates changing as you drive. It is 4 hours off and when I try to change the time, it does not change.
I still love the car and enjoy it very day I drive it. My only complaint is the slow access time for the rear view camera. |

Yup, got it a few weeks ago, not thrilled as our '07 is not even a month old yet.
Message disappeared the next day though (I didn't seem to go away from a simple re-start).
I did wonder however if the problem was somehow caused by weather changes as the day it happened to me was not a particularly great day. |

| That's funny 'cause I got the same message last week too. It disappeared after a while but it appeared in the "new messages" section (nav screen). |

| Are you parked on an uneven surface? The body of the vehicle flexes so that may be why it feels like it's not openning easily. I noticed that when I parked on an uneven hill. On a flat surface, there was no problem. If that is not the case, something on the door may be out of alignment. |

| I had the same message while vacationing in FL. It popped up ~2 hrs after filling the tank and driving ~100 miles. No matter what I did over the next day and a half, it showed as a loose gas cap...then went away. |

When this happened to me, I checked the message that poped up on the nav system and it stated that once the gas cap is tightened down the message will display for a day or two until a number of 'normal' starts then will go away.
It sounds like the persistence of this message was designed in to ensure correct function of the vehicle. |

| Same thing happened to me. I fixed mine tho. The problem with mine at least was that i only let it click 2 times. Let it click 3-4 times. Hope it works! |
