Does anyone know how to disable that annoying beeping sound when your driving without your seatbelt?

Thanks
SilveradoMDX
Its a good feature, don't know why you want to disable this safety feature. Sometimes you need to move around which we can all understand, apparently the beeping sound doesn't annoy me.

 Yes, put your seatbelt on. I can't believe in this day and age that anyone would question that. But you are entitled to your opinion so good luck is what I wish for you.

I agree, I hated it in my 05 BMW just when I would unbuckle early, but the MDX beep is really soft, not annoying, and it goes on only in the passenger side. If you really don't wanna wear your seat belt, well than you should not be driving :1pat:

Not to be harsh but........ :wtf: MaN!?

You are just askin for a emergency exit via the front windshield!

I think a little :yodaddy: is in order!

A little advice from me, the paramedic... ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!!
Sdanielj
Ok then, first.. Let me thank you all that have so much time on your hands to worry about other's well being.

Second... this is a simple question/answer forum. If you don't have an answer why can't you just leave it alone? Why do you feel someone who doesn't ask for you opinions wants it? Maybe we should start another topic forum to ponder global warming, the ozone, world hunger and other more pressing issues where your opinions may matter.

I just want to state that I do wear my seatbelt 95% of the time. On the 5% of the time I don't wear it would be when I am driving on 36 acres of private land. I'm old enough to know it saves lives.

Since all of you brought it up. I think the seatbelt rule is the most retarded. If an idiot chooses not to wear his seatbelt while driving all he/she hurts are themselves. This is a free country where people are allowed to mutilate their bodies with piercing, branding or even cutting their tongues to resemble a snake. Why do you have to force people to take care of themselves? Why aren't all of you in front of a McDonald’s with signs that ask people why are they killing themselves with fast food?

Thank you for your unwanted opinions. I'll just take my MDX to the dealer.

You're very welcome.

Note I did say you were entitled to your opinion.

Even though my opinion is unwanted, as you so succinctly pointed out, this is a free country so I choose to express it. Your chances of getting a dealer to disable the beep are next to none. They wouldn't want the liability.

Oh, and no one is forcing you to take care of yourself.

Again, good luck.

I agree, the dealer would never do such a thing. And i'm sorry that that little beeping when you fail to buckle up is bugging you that much. We are all entitled to our opinions on this forum, we know that you are new here, however here at acuramdx.org we offer constructive help, and not those that kill lives.

Ah- now there's the rub. When you put your face through the windshield, you're not just hurting yourself. Somebody else is paying the hospital bills- your company (through their insurance premiums) or taxpayers if you don't have insurance.
It's the same argument with motorcycle helmets- I say 'Splatter your brain! See what I care!' , except that I as a taxpayer or a consumer am paying some part of your dang foolishness,
I bet you didn't like that unwanted opinion at all, huh?

BTW- you're not from around here, are you, son?

I personally think they should revise the seatbelt and helmet laws. Don't make either one mandatory, *but* if you get into an accident and it's proven that you weren't wearing one, your insurance doesn't have to cover your medical bills. And if you don't have insurance then you're on your own to foot the entire bill (or don't seek medical help).

Then you only have to ask yourself one question: "Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya?"

Just to add my own unwanted opinion. You really in all honesty thought that asking such a loaded question would not bring unsolicited advice? C'mon, you said you were old enough to know seatbelts save lives. There was at least one other former member that asked a similar question and got a similar response and he eventually disappeared and nuked his own posts. Don't be like that. Members here are willing to help out for the most part.

Oh and about self-mutilation. I wish what you said was true about all the damage being done just to the non-seatbelt wearer. As it happens, when you're driving unrestrained and are involved in an accident, if you don't hit the interior of the car and pass out or are ejected, then there's a chance you may still maintain some semblance of control of your vehicle and therefore avoid another car. Trust me, I've seen the damage. In some instances, it's the ejected person's body that flies into another vehicle and causes another accident. So the admonishments given you are not just to protect you but the pregnant lady in the opposite lane swerving to avoid your soon-to-be corpse on the interstate, the teenage driver you broadside because you lost control after losing consciousness since half you head is on the rearview mirror...well, you get the drfit.

Oh, and another piece of (solicited) advice: either wear noise-cancelling headphones or put the end of a cut-off seatbelt in the slot. But if you even bother to do the latter, then might as well put the real thing in there.

Find another seat belt buckle and place it in the buckle latch. You can get one from a junk yard.

Don't worry about the other guys giving you a hard time. You have a right not to wear your seatbelt. Heck, your death will be alot cheaper than paying for cancer treatment for a smoker or cardiac care for a junk food eater.

Good luck!
