It's getting warm, and the weather is getting more and more beautiful everyday. With this said, I have a couple quick questions.

Has anyone used just the Z-CS (Zaino Clear Seal) on their cars? I am usually extremely busy during the week and on weekends, and don't have enough time to perform a complete detailing task. I need something that will not take too long to apply, but will also give me some good results...thus the Z-CS (claim made on website). Has anyone given this new product a try? what were your results?

Also, I work in the city and park in a garage where cars are parked a little too close for my X's comfort sometimes, and because of this, picked up a few scratches and a minor dent. Any ideas on what I can do to get these out? (this might have been answered before, but the threads I looked at were a bit dated)

Thanks for all the useful information guys!!!

On our MDX and RL, and it has taken shine and protection to a new higher level. I did however, clay, AIO, Z5 twice, Z2 once, and then put 2 coats of ZCS on with 24 hrs between the ZCS coats. It then went outside in rain for a couple of weeks now, in rainy crappy weather and it doesnt look all that dirty. Normally 1 trip down a freeway here after bad winter which we did have, and your car is eating sand and grit for a few months and comes back looking like it got hit by a load of cement. And even though it's still bad out there, these 2 are not getting as dirty. The stuff really works. If you have dents, have dent master or someone like that take them out first, if you have minor scratches, swirls, I would use ZPC first either by hand or with a Porter Cable 7424 and either a yellow (more agressive) or white (less agressive foam pad from Lake Country.
It helps to have really good light to do all this stuff and a garage is almost mandatory if you have frequent periods of rain as we do here in Bellevue. Some may say that if you use ZPC and/or Z-AIO you dont need to clay, but I feel that the more I can safely remove off the paint, the less these products have to work and it can only make it smoother and cleaner, and in my case, swirl and scratch free.. Good luck, its worth the effort in my opinion. DanF

Put Z-CS over any product as long as the product is properly cured, so you may be thinking about that too, right ? Im just a typical fanatic so I used all those steps to get my paint as perfect as possible so that I wouldnt have to look at really shiny scratches and swirls :) Decide how much you really care about perfectly clean clear paint and then use accordingly. If you already have a great base of whatever on, Zaino says their product will help it look and stay better - as long - as that product is cured first... ZCS goes on really wierd, its slippery, clear and leaves a visual rainbow effect as you put it on. Dont rub it in too hard, dont go over it very much, and dont touch it once you've done it. Let it dry for a few hours, and then if its still showing parts that look smeared, just wipe it off and let it all continue to cure as long as you can. I dont know anyone who has used it and said they were unhappy with the results - I know Im not. Its really a great sealer that only enhances their already great polishes ( Z2 and Z5).. Have fun. DanF

Scorpion - Like i previously said, I really don't have that much time to wait every 24 hrs to apply different coat of a different Zaino product.

I just bought the car, and it has a decent base on it. I do believe that I might have a clay the front end (bug splatters etc) a little bit before I apply anything else though. BTW which clay product will you recommend?

Right after the 1st.. No problem.. You will be fine.. I have tried a few different claybars over the years and have had great success with ClayMagic, its a blue bar, and the Coral Red colored Zaino bars. But they are in Howell, but wait, you are in NJ too, right ?? What I have been able to determine in my experience is this -- the Clay Magic blue bar is slightly more "agressive" in removing things out of your paint with less effort than the Zaino claybars. If you are doing this for the 1st time, please be careful, use lots of lube - Claymagic comes with its own lube, Zaino does not, and you should be ok. Clay should remove all those bug things and even stuff that you can only feel but not really see. It should leave a very smooth, clean finish. This finish may or may not have scratches, swirls, etc, in it; you will decide how much more effort you want to put into it. But whatever you end up doing, the Zaino CS should improve and protect the finish better than perhaps anything out there today. Its that good.
Read the directions, use really sparingly, all of their products are designed to be applied sparingly, because in this case, more is not better.. There is talk about Mother's Claybar - yellow bars, I tried them and they were too sticky, stuck to everything and did mar my finishes.. The Clay Magic and Mother's bars should be available at most auto parts stores, sometimes its best to call ahead if you dont know for sure and save a trip.. Good luck, let us know how you are doing and we will help ! DanF

The Zaino products, Z2, Z5, if used with the catylst ZFX, can be applied very quickly after each coat, but you need to wipe off, mist some Z6 gloss enhancer on and wipe that off and apply no more than 3 coats in a 24 hour period... The ZCS you have, it needs to have a few hours possibly before you apply a 2nd coat, but the 2nd coat is not necessary, as they say the 1st coat should help your paint stay protected up to 9 months.. Amazing stuff.. Enjoy ! DanF
