Center console power outlet popped out - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hello everyone,

My wife mentioned to me the other day, that while she was removing the cell phone charger from the power outlet inside the center console, that the entire outlet pulled out along with it.

Now, I can push this thing back in, but there seems to be nothing anchoring it to keep it from pulling out again. I see that there are threads at the bottom of the outlet, but I see nothing inside the "hole" where these could be screwed into...

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks guys!

Ok, well, I ended up fixing this myself - at least for now.
What I had to do, was pop out the cup holders (pulls straight up and out), which revealed a very small, rectangular opening which allowed me to gain access to the outlet "sleeve". When this sleeve had gradually unscrewed itself from the actual outlet, it slid down the wiring loom near where the cup holders were.

I had to use a magnetic retrieval tool to pull it up to the point where I could grab it. Once I had it, it was a painstaking task of pushing it the rest of the way up the wiring (with a few fingers that could fit in the opening) and with the other hand, pushing the outlet assembly into position inside the center console. As you screw the sleeve tight, it sandwiches the outlet in place. However, screwing the sleeve tight was the real pain, as there was just so little room to grab it - I was using the two fingers that could reach...

So, needless to say, Im not sure I got it as tight as I'd like, but that's the best I could do. I'm not sure how they do these in manufacturing, but short of taking the entire center console out (which would necessitate removing the two front seats in order to gain access to some screws), this was the next best option.
