May have just found my first issue with my 4300k $100 dollar HID Kit.
Has anyone with the el cheapo's noticed a variance shift in color coming out of their HID's from start-up, to fully fired-up. I definitely see a near-6000k look when they fire up, but then a quick change to around 3500-4000k. It's only after the 5-10 minute mark, that they reach a consistant 4300k light with a hard purple and blue cut-off. |

That's normal with any HID light. I've owned several cars and currently own a car with HIDs and when you first turn them on, they're very purple for the first few moments, then they become whiter (less purple).
That's totally normal. |

| Perfectly normal, its the initial warm up stage process. |

Sorry , I posted on your old thread, before you got your kit. How did the install go? I'm assuming it was a success because you are using them...
I can tell you my HID's, the color difference is for maybe the first 1 second, when the bulb ignites and then levels out right after that. My fathers TL is like that also. |

Why are you sorry. lol
I installed the kit in early April. So far, it's been the best value mod I've ever done. $100 bones, looks exactly like the TSX OEM's, and it has all the depth of my brother's M5. Haven't measured it with a light meter, but it's darn close.
Variance take a couple of minutes to level out, but it looks great to me. Just didn't know if it was normal for these knock-offs. Now I know.

I find my 5000K color to be at its best value without any significant loss of light. I change my HID 6000K fog light back to the Silverstar Ultra 4000K. The reason I change the 6000K due to visibility during rain/wet road condition, not much reflection.

Yes, my G35 and Z both do this as does my friend's M3. |

Good. I never even thought to look at my brother's bimmer OEM's. I will now though.
At least my kit appears to be normal. Thanks for the quick feedback.

| Hi- I'm brand new to this forum. Getting my wife an '06 this week. I've added an HID to my BMW motorcycle, but don't know where you guys are buying them for the MDX. Can you please let me know? The kit for my K1200GT was $100 as well. Great mod, cheap. Thanks! |

The answer to your mystery is the almighty, eBay!
You should find what you are looking for there. Just beware of overseas sellers. :29: |
