I posted this in accessories but was hoping someone might now here:

I have an 03 MDX and am having an extremely hard time finding hitches that can attach to the MDX with a full size spare...

Has anyone come across one or know where to get one which fits with a full size spare?

Any help is much appreciated! :)

Shouldn't the OEM tow hitch fit even with a FSS?

If you want to pay up for an OEM the case is closed, otherwise....

Thanks andreseng that was a very informative thread an EXACTLY was I was looking for!

The oem hitch is too expensive IMO and if I get the dealership to install it they make you add cooling in the engine and so forth (which will quickly make the hitch a $1000 pursuit...no thanks!)

I think I am going for the draw-tite hitch...thanks again!

Good thread. I'm looking for a hitch as well just to use with my Yakima bike rack which fits into any hitch.

I used a Reese Tow Power hitch on my Explorer. It looked great, was easy to install, and worked fine. They make a kit for the MDX for about $150; I was thinking about getting it, but I'll have to check about spare tire clearance on my 02.

Here's the Reese hitch:

You can get the tow hitch package at hondacuraworld for much less ($650) and install it yourself. Still not cheap but at least it's OEM and doable.

How difficult is it to install the PS and AT coolers?

This recent thread might help. There's a few others if you search. Instructions are at Tim's website.
