With the headlight switch in 'Auto' mode the headlight often comes on and then goes off in a few seconds when you pass through darker areas. Typical situations are driving under a wide freeway overpass, pulling out of your garage during the day etc. Is this kind of cycling of the HID lights bad for it? Will it shorten its life? I do like the convenience of the 'Auto' mode.
BTW, I do have the 'light sensitivity' setting set at the lowest sensitivity. |

It's probably not the best scenario for them but I can tell you I have been running my HIDs in auto mode for almost 3 years with no problems. I would make sure the bulbs are fully fired up before cutting power/turning them off, if possible. |
