What height is the tow hitch? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I just ordered the tow hitch package from Tim, but I need to order a ball carrier to go with it. The trailer I'm pulling requires a ball carrier that places the top of the ball 18-19" above the ground, so I'll need a dropped carrier.

Trouble is, my Acura dealer hasn't installed a hitch on a 2007 and doesn't know how high it is, so I don't know how much of a drop to order.

Can anyone tell me how high the hitch is installed and how much of a drop I'll need to get to 18-19"? Also, is the hitch installation difficult enough that I shouldn't entrust it to a dealership that hasn't done one yet, or is the Acura training sufficient?

Trailer hitch installation on any vehicle that I have ever had is very simple. You do not have to have a trained technician to accomplish.

I doubt that there has been any change in geometry on the 2007 MDX. Go measure any earlier model and I am sure you will have the correct height.

I got my hitch installed by the dealer.
The center of the receiver is 17 3/4'' from the ground if that can help.
