I'am not happy with Acura right now...

This is my 3rd MDX , I had 2001,2004 and now the 2007... Love the MDX.. not impressed with the service at all...

One of the tires split at the sidewall with my wife and kids in the car.
Lucky it happen in a parking lot and not on the highway. Called roadside assitance they were there in 30 minutes. No problem.

Call my dealer to let them know what happen, did not return call. I called them they said they would talk to service manager and call back. 2 days later no call!!

I get better serivce at my Honda dealer!

So called client services and filed a complaint with the dealership.

Acura needs to crack down on some of these dealers. The lack of a consistent, positive service experience across all dealers is a detriment to the brand. Hopefully this is just an oversight that is corrected to your satisfaction.

Right on! I couldn't agree more.

I think I would be more ticked off at the tire manufacturer than Acura.

I got a call from American Honda, they even had a hard time getting anyone at the dealership on the phone!

I still have not heard form the dealership.. but the girl form Honda made an appointment for tomorrow morning...

There will be a michellin rep there to look at the tire so we will see what happens....

Might want to mention to the Michelin rep that their QC is going down the tubes. There seems to be a fair number of complaints on the forum about their tires and the only solution seems to be road force balancing.

Funny, I have had great luck with the Cross Terrains. Is the new MDX using something else?

Lattitudes I believe... on MDXs with Sport at least. Out of town on business so can't pop out and check.

I agree with being mad at the dealer who sold the car. I had a similar situation where a chevy dealer did not return calls related to my corvette. The car was in the shop and I kept getting the runaround. I finally sent a letter to the service manager with a cc to the general manager at the dealership and also general motors corporation.

I got a very quick response and they did everything but kiss my xxx. I have not and will not be back at that dealer, but the final work was done satisfactorily.

Good luck.

Sounds like a pretty shady place. They'll be lucky to keep their ability to sell Acura.

There are 3 Acura dealerships in the Twin Cities area (MN), and they are all 3 decent. But I have noticed the one that EXCLUSIVELY sells Acura is leaps and bounds above the Acura/Subaru dealerships.

At least the car is EXCELLENT! :1:

Having a similar problem with South Bay Acura in Torrance, CA. Still have my 07 MDX for an electrical problem with 120 miles on the car (its been two weeks). I'm sending certifid letters today to the dealership GM and service manager along with starting the official arbitration process in CA. The sales person basicaly washed his hands of it yesterday, refusing to even mention to the GM that he may want to get involved. Communication has been poor to say the least. I've got a thread on it specifically that I'll be posting a full update shortly. At this point, I cannot recomend enough to stay away from Southbay Acura and Jerry Ede, one of their fleet sales managers.

Thought I'd chime in here as well. Within 24 hours of car ownership, the connector between the shifter and the transmission broke leaving my car dead in the water (literally - as it was in pouring rain). I called Acura service and wasted over 3 hours at night in a parking lot waiting for the tow. I was really upset and let them know about it and demanded they compensate for my troubles and to win back my trust in the Acura name. They offered to throw in any accessory I wanted, but I told them that my confidence in their cars has fallen and that I'm worried something else might happen - possibly when I'm driving with the kids. I requested they throw in the $1800+ extended warranty service and after some discussions with the district manager they agreed. I guess this is part of the problem with buying the first year of a new model, but we were waiting for the new MDX for several years so we still bought one thinking Acura is a good brand.

Shift linkage snapped? That's insane for any car built in 2000. That scares me. 1st model year or not.

Would you mind telling us what dealer this was? Currently have an 02 MDX and am thinking of trading it for an 07.

......South Bay Acura is one of the worst dealerships I have ever come across. With the few HORRENDOUS experiences I've had with them, I never used them for service even though I live just 5 minutes from their location!!. Back when I had my '03 MDX, I used to take it to Valencia Acura 60 miles away  (their service department was very good)
