For those that had the prev gen MDX's.....on the new MDX, is the braking still 'soft' compared to the prev years models? I drive a Prerunner pickup and everytime I drive the wife's 05 MDX, the brakes feel a little softer and sometimes I feel like I can't stop the vehicle on time:eek:
I did test-drive the new 07 twice but at low speeds both times, so didn't really get to test the brakes.
Secondly, on the 07 MDX, is there a way to turn on the foglamps without having to turn on the other lights? e.g. for low-light daytime driving?
TIA
S
PS: Bro-in-law bought the new Oddessy and man, even thought Im anti-minivans, that is a nice minivan indeed! Luv the technology+room
on that thing even though it may not be

| My new 07 MDX has much better brake feel. I don't know if measured stopping distances are improved, but the braking feels stronger and more linear than in my 01. Don't know about the fog lights. |

My understanding is that many states have laws requiring that headlights must be on whenever the fog lights are used, so in order to comply Honda products are wired so the fogs can only be turned on when the headlights are on.
I used to hang out on the hondapilot.org site and there was a work-around posted there for Pilots. Rerouting a few wires under the dash allowed separate control of the fogs. Not sure if anyone has done that here as I'm new. |

I'd say you cannot compare the 1st gen MDX to the 2007 MDX.....NO COMPARO !
Brakes: Night and day from my previous 05 MDX!
Fogs only work inconjunction with the headlights. DRL are ALWAYS on unless you have your headlights on. You have an option of having the fogs on or off only when the headlights are "on".......
NO comparo ! :1: :1: |

Braking distance is less on the 07 compared to my 01.
Just curious why you would want fogs without headlights in low-light conditions? Unless there really is fog, how would fogs help you illuminate the road?
The Ody would be my top choice among minivans since nobody's come up with a 500-HP sport-tuned aerodynamic 7-seater with sliding doors yet. Amazingly, though, for a nearly $40K van, the Ody lacks HIDs and Bluetooth. |
