I have a 2001 MDX with about 77,000 miles on it. Since I bought it a year ago, the radio volume knob doesn't work. When you turn the knob 1 full turn to the right or left, it only adjust the volume 1 bar. Sometimes it does the opposite from what you want (i.e when you turn it louder, it gets softer). Has anyone had to replace their volume switch? I am sure that the plastic knob isn't spining on the post. It appears to be in the turn switch. Any thoughts on a cost for this? I bet they won't fix it for free.
Thanks!

| You can buy just the faceplate only instead of a whole new audio unit. |

FYI - SuperTech doesn't think, he knows. He is an Acura Service Technician! :4: |

| I had the same problem on my 01 Touring. It started happening with about 60k miles on it. I tried searching this forum in the past and didn't find anything so I figured it was just my X. I'm not sure if replacing the faceplate will fix the problem. I removed the plastic knob and tried turning the metal post to see if it was just the knob but the problem remained. Also, like you said, when you turn the volume or down, it often does the opposite which for me ruled out the knob being the problem. I simply resorted to using the volume control on the steering wheel. I traded in my 01 for an 07 so I no longer have the problem. |
