be appreciated |

My brother ran them. Aggressive but quiet, good looking, with good snow traction. Not sure if they have a snow tire rating like the Scorpion ATR, but much better off road than those Duellers. Better tire.
When my GY Silent Armours die, it's between them and the Pirelli Scorpions.

I had the opposite experience. My Montero came with these - Yokohama Geolandars. They were terrible in snow and ice, scary when offroading and wore out in 20K miles. I took a 30 degree hill with no road with these - SCARY - slipping and sliding all over the place!!! Then did the same thing with Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos - completely different exprience.
The best tire in my experience for comfort / handling in snow and rain / cornering is Goodyear Fortera Trippletread. I have these currently on my Montero.
Before, I had Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. There were 100% better than Geolandars. Handled amazingly well though in snow and rain. Negatives - too nosiy and wore off in about 40K miles.
Before that I had Michelin Cross Terrains. These lasted 60K miles as advertised. They were very nice and comfy, but did not handle well in snow and ice, as well as in hard rain. In snow, I would hit brakes when driving VERY slow and the car would slide downhill all the way. |

Thats interesting...were they the ATS's? Our winters are as severe as they get, and bro never complained. Then again, he has Cross Terrains now, and likes those. I tore my Michelins off the car upon purchase...useless tires in Canada after the first year of use.
That being the case, If snow is a concern, and you want something a little more aggressive than the Good Years or Michelins, I'd get the Pirelli Scorpions. They rock, get great traction, and look great. I know that the triple treads are possibly the best traction tire out there, but I was told they were way too noisey, and to take the Silent Armours instead. They're ok, but I'd like something more aggressive now. Got a cottage in snow country.
